Formerly St. Louis Center for Family Development

Sparlin Mental Health is proud to offer state-of-the-art fellowship opportunities to professionals who seek additional growth and skill development. The only post-graduate fellowships in the region, Sparlin’s programs combine intensive training, supervision, peer consultation and hands-on clinical work. These fellowships provide ample opportunity for learning whether you are a new clinician looking to start your career or a seasoned professional who wants to improve your clinical expertise.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Fellowship

Sparlin was the first organization in the St. Louis Region to provide a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) fellowship program. The DBT Fellowship is a program intended for those individuals interested in learning an evidence-based treatment model. The program is designed to enhance the fellow’s clinical competencies in DBT treatment and prepare clinicians for national certification. DBT fellows will learn from experts in the field by participating in DBT consultation team, mentorship discussions, learning activities and individual supervision. Fellows will have the opportunity to apply their learning by co-facilitating a DBT Skills Training Group and providing therapy to a small number of clients.

Advanced Clinical Social Work Fellowship

Sparlin’s Advanced Clinical Social Work fellowship is a post-master’s degree program designed to advance the clinical skill sets of social workers as they begin their career. Sparlin aims to build on the foundational and advanced social work practice competencies developed in a MSW program through providing an experience of close supervision, targeted training, and practice opportunities. The goal of the fellowship is to leave participants feeling ready and competent to enter the workforce with knowledge and practice skills necessary to change lives.

Sparlin Mental Health is not currently accepting applications for our DBT and Advanced Clinical Social Work fellowships. For questions regarding our fellowship programs, contact Nicole Wood.
