Dr. Amanda Bohnenstiehl provides DBT Training, part-time, at Sparlin Mental Health. She also works as a therapist, clinical supervisor for licensure and and adjunct faculty in graduate counseling programs. She has been trained extensively in Dialectical Behavior Therapy beginning in 2010 and is a nationally-certified DBT Clinician by the Linehan Board of Certification.

Amanda originally chose to pursue a career in the field of mental health because she felt drawn to aiding trauma survivors. Prior to joining the team at Sparlin, Amanda worked as a case manager, outpatient therapist and research assistant. She has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in psychology, human services, education and counseling.

In her personal time, Amanda enjoys watching movies, cooking and exercising. Originally from Illinois, Amanda enjoys St. Louis’s diverse, urban living experience. Amanda also has a pet dog named Lando.
