Jennifer Starks provides professional training in Motivational Interviewing (MI) at Sparlin Mental Health. She has experience providing MI training to a variety of audiences, including mental health providers, probation officers, nurses, local and national college personnel, and other nonprofit staff. Jennifer is an adjunct instructor of Motivational Interviewing at Washington University, and guest lectures on the subject at Logan University.
Jennifer was always drawn to helping others, but did not formally pursue counseling until after becoming a mother to a child with autism and mental health-related issues, which inspired her to support others in similar circumstances. Jennifer currently works as a Care Manager for graduate students at a local university. She has experience working with individuals and families, particularly those who have a child on the autism spectrum.
A native St. Louisan, Jennifer lives in Affton with her husband, four children and a dog. She enjoys reading non-fiction books, watching movies and TV shows with her family, and traveling. Her favorite self-care activity is running.
