Nancy Spargo co-founded Sparlin Mental Health in January 2009, where she currently serves as CEO. In this role, she provides Trauma-Informed Training to colleagues and organizations throughout the state of Missouri. She also advocates for improved quality and accessibility to mental health services.
Nancy was inspired to join the mental health field after an undergraduate internship tapped into her passion for serving those who are affected by societal injustices. With more than 30 years of clinical and social work experience, Nancy has served in a variety of settings, including: community mental health facilities, inpatient psychiatric units, child welfare organizations, and projects for the homeless and survivors of domestic violence.
Most recently, Nancy was selected to participate in the Leadership St. Louis program of Focus St. Louis and was appointed to the Community Advisory Board of the Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences and the Institute for Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis. She is also a member of the Grants Committee of the Women’s Foundation of Greater St. Louis.
Outside of her career at Sparlin, Nancy is passionate about live music, spending time in nature, cooking, and reading. She has two adult children, one teenager, and enjoys working with children of all ages. Nancy is fluent in Spanish and lived in Spain for two periods of time, prior to relocating to the St. Louis area via Chicago.
