Education: Pursuing a Master of Social Work, with a concentration in Mental Health and specializations in Sexual Health and Education – Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis

Rachel Smith is completing a practicum at Sparlin Mental Health in pursuit of a Master of Social Work degree. As a Practicum Student, she will be learning and developing clinical skills under the supervision of Sparlin’s Clinical and Organizational Leaders.

Rachel is from Kansas City and relocated to St. Louis for graduate school. In an earlier practicum, Rachel worked as a Research Assistant at the Missouri Institute of Mental Health, where she assisted in a project involving survivors of intimate partner violence. Rachel is also pursuing her Sexuality Educator Certification through the American Association for Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). She completed her undergraduate degree at Truman State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Anthropology.

Rachel’s hobbies include cooking, visiting breweries, exercising, reading and cheering on her hometown Kansas City Chiefs football team. Rachel has three dogs named Pebbles, Waldo and Taz.
